UP Primary Teacher Syllabus 2026 - Exam Pattern & Subject Wise Topics

A written exam is held for Primary Teacher (Class 1 to 5) recruitment in Uttar Pradesh which includes teaching related subjects and UP general knowledge both. The exam pattern and subject wise important topics are given below.

Exam pattern

An objective type paper is held in which questions come from various sections. Specified marks are given for every correct answer; negative marking rules are given in the notification.

Subject wise topics

• Hindi Language: Letter formation, Sandhi, Samas, Prefix-Suffix, Synonyms-Antonyms, Idioms-Proverbs, Sentence correction, Ras-Chhand-Alankar, Unseen passage
• Child Development & Pedagogy: Principles of child development, Piaget-Vygotsky-Kohlberg, Principles of learning, Personality, Intelligence, Inclusive education, Evaluation and Assessment, NCF and RTE Act
• Mathematics: Number system, Fractions, Percentage, Profit-Loss, Ratio-Proportion, Time-Work, Mensuration, Basics of algebra, Data handling
• Environmental Studies / Science: Human body, Nutrition, Health, Plants and animals, Natural resources, Basic knowledge of Light-Sound-Electricity, Environmental protection
• UP General Knowledge: History of UP, geography, rivers, districts, folk dance and culture, major schemes of UP government, state symbols
• General Knowledge and Current Affairs: History of India, Constitution, Geography, Economy, Sports, Awards, National-International events

Preparation strategy

• Child Development & Pedagogy is the most scoring section - study it first and very well
• Memorizing static topics in UP General Knowledge (districts, rivers, folk dance) gives sure marks
• Give a mock test daily and analyze mistakes
• NCERT class 1 to 8 books are the best source for Mathematics and Science
